Preventative Care

We recommend that you schedule a routine exam and cleaning at least twice per year, as covered by insurance.

Individual consultations and dental exams consist of cleanings, x-rays (when needed), and a focus on encouraging proper home care with overall oral health. We also provide sealants to help protect teeth against decay and fluoride treatments for healthier and stronger enamel.

Deep Cleaning

Periodontal disease is the number one factor in tooth loss among adults in the United States. Dentists and hygienists are trained to catch gum disease; the earlier it is detected the easier it is to clean.

A deep cleaning uses a method called root planing and scaling to remove excess plaque and tartar that might lead to gum disease. During this treatment, the gum line is cleaned and restored in order to save your teeth.

The treatment removes plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line. Planing, smooths the rough spots on the tooth root to remove bacteria and you are left with a clean surface for the gums to reattach to the teeth.
